Jazz's Hayward will not play vs. Cavaliers

Chris Nicoll / USA TODAY Sports

Utah Jazz small forward Gordon Hayward will not play in Monday night's contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers due to plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

Monday will mark the first game that Gordon has missed this season.

The 25-year-old has been instrumental to Utah's success this season, leading the team in points per game (20.1) and minutes per game (36.2), while also averaging 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists. The Indiana native is also shooting 43.4 percent from the floor and 36 percent from deep.

The Jazz (31-35) currently sit two games back of a playoff spot and will be tested on Monday against the East-leading Cavaliers.
