Weems, who was waived by the Suns on Saturday, could provide depth to the Sixers backcourt after the team previously sacrificed Jakarr Sampson's roster spot following a botched three-team trade at the deadline. In 36 appearances with the Suns this season, the 29-year-old averaged 2.5 points, 1.3 assists, and 1.1 rebounds in 12 minutes. If the 76ers go through with the addition of Weems to their roster, they intend to release Christian Wood, who's currently on a 10-day contract.
