Another veteran is leaving the Twin Cities.

The Minnesota Timberwolves reached a buyout agreement with shooting guard Kevin Martin ahead of Tuesday's midnight deadline, ESPN's Marc Stein reports.

Martin confirmed the move in a farewell letter.

San Antonio, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta are all said to be in pursuit of Martin, Stein adds.

Martin's name has been bandied about in trade and buyout rumors for most of the season. The 33-year-old is playing the fewest minutes since his rookie season, and will hope to latch on with a contending team.

Reaching a buyout with Martin, however, carried the tricky roadblock of his $7.4-million player option for 2016-17. He would need to forgo a significant chunk of guaranteed money in order to scrap his current deal.

Now in his 12th season, Martin has mostly regressed into a scorer off the bench. He's averaging 10.6 points per game while shooting 37.7 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from deep.

Martin averaged 20 points per game as recently as last season, when he played 39 games before succumbing to injuries.
