The New York Knicks are desperately trying to land some sort of an upgrade at point guard prior to Thursday's trade deadline, with underwhelming veteran floor general Jose Calderon acting as their starter for all but four games this season.

Management has been actively shopping the 34-year-old, hyping up his intangibles as a leader to hopefully entice potential buyers, according to ESPN's Marc Stein and Brian Windhorst.

Some of the offers have even included big man Kyle O'Quinn, if only to sweeten the pot to help get Calderon away from Madison Square Garden.

Calderon is currently averaging 7.5 points and 4.1 assists through 51 games. He remains a highly efficient shooter, converting 46.9 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from deep, and 87.9 percent from the charity stripe. But he's a non-factor on the defensive end, and not exactly quick on his feet.

He's also set to make $7.7 million in the final year of his contract next season.

The apple of New York's eye appears to be Atlanta Hawks guard Jeff Teague, with the two sides having reportedly been in trade discussions in recent weeks.

The Knicks entered the All-Star break with a 23-32 record, having lost six straight games and 10 of their last 11.
