The Denver Nuggets have traded veteran guard Randy Foye to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for D.J. Augustin, Steve Novak, and two second-round picks, the Nuggets announced Thursday.

Foye, a 10-year veteran, is having a down year as he's averaging just six points and 2.1 assists in 19.8 minutes per game. The career 37 percent 3-point marksman is hitting just 29.6 percent of his threes this year and just 35.1 percent of his field goals overall.

Foye does carry a reputation as a knockdown shooter off the bench who can handle some playmaking responsibilities.

The Thunder will also save $9.8 million as a result of the trade.

As for Denver, the Nuggets get a veteran guard in Augustin.

Novak will reportedly be bought out by the Nuggets, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. The perimeter-shooting big man has only played in seven games this season. If he is released by March 1, he could be eligible for postseason action with any team that picks him up.
