Ish Smith: Out Saturday, expected back Monday

Smith (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Nets, Calkins Media's Tom Moore reports.

Analysis:

The Sixers quickly announced that T.J. McConnell would get the start at point guard, meaning he could see 30-plus minutes. Isaiah Canaan and Kendall Marshall could also see slight upticks in minutes Saturday. The 76ers are planning to have Smith available for Monday's game against the Clippers, so it looks to be a case where the team is just exercising some precaution with their point guard on the second half of a back-to-back set.
