Williams (hip) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup with the Heat, Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com reports.

Analysis:

Coach Rick Carlisle noted that Williams was "doing better" after he sustained a right hip contusion in Monday's loss to the Hawks, but the injury will prevent the point guard from taking the court. With Devin Harris (toe) also out, both Raymond Felton and J.J. Barea figure to see fairly drastic increases in floor time. Since Carlisle indicated that the Mavericks aren't ruling Williams out through the All-Star break, it sounds like he'll continue to be evaluated on a game-by-game basis. Consider Williams questionable to play Friday versus the Spurs.
