Cavaliers deal Joe Harris to Magic for future 2nd

The Cleveland Cavaliers traded swingman Joe Harris, a 2017 second-round pick, and cash considerations to the Orlando Magic for a 2020 second-round pick, the team announced Tuesday.

Harris is expected to be waived, according to John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com.

Cleveland will relay Sacramento's 2017 second-round pick and receive Portland's 2020 second-round pick. The selections are both protected 31-55, so it's highly unlikely either team will end up receiving anything of tangible value for them.

The trade will save the Cavaliers nearly $3 million between shedding salary and luxury-tax considerations. Cleveland has the highest payroll in the league at $110 million.

Harris underwent foot surgery earlier last week, and could be out for the remainder of the 2015-16 season. He has one year remaining on his deal for 2016-17 worth slightly under $1 million.

The 24-year-old 3-point specialist has played a total of 508 minutes with the Cavaliers over the past two seasons.
