Wizards' Beal available to play vs. Bucks

After missing the last 16 games with a stress fracture in his right fibula, Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal is available to play Wednesday night when his team hosts the Milwaukee Bucks.

"I think the trainers and docs gave me the OK, so it's a matter of me being confident in myself and my body," Beal said, according to the Associated Press.

The 22-year-old indicated that if he does see the floor, it will likely be in a limited role coming off the bench.

"Especially if I'm on a minutes restriction. You know how (Randy Wittman) gets. Witt will forget how many minutes I'm out there," Beal joked. "He’ll just leave me out there. But we've been rolling with what we have now and I'm not mad at that at all. Whatever it's going to take for us to win. Whatever it's going to take for us to continue the streak that we're on, we're going to do it."

The Wizards are winners of their last two games, the most recent a 114-100 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night, and went 8-8 during Beal's recent absence.

The original plan was for Beal to make his return either Friday against the Indiana Pacers or Saturday against the Boston Celtics, but it looks like that timeline will be pushed up a game.

In 17 appearances this season, Beal is averaging a team-high 19.8 points on 43.8 percent shooting, along with 4.7 rebounds and 3.2 rebounds. He's also averaged 36.5 minutes per game, which he acknowledges may need to be scaled back for the remainder of his career, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.

Beal has suffered the exact same injury every year he's been in the league, missing a total of 73 games since being drafted third overall by the franchise in 2012.
