Kobe's advice for Okafor: 'Stay focused on the game'

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Kobe Bryant is making his last visit as an NBA player to his hometown of Philadelphia on Tuesday, and prior to the game the legend was dishing out advice to the 76ers' youngsters.

Regarding center Jahlil Okafor, Bryant - who experienced off-court travails of his own earlier in his career - said the 19-year-old needs to worry about basketball and nothing but.

"Stay focused on the game," Bryant suggested to reporters.

His words echo those of Okafor's childhood friend, Jabari Parker, who defended the No. 3 pick in June's draft after a week of unsavory allegations came to light.

Bryant, who was playing in the NBA before Okafor's and Parker's second birthdays, also spoke with injured Sixers big man Joel Embiid during shootaround.
