Suns' Price sustains concussion, Morris injures knee

The Phoenix Suns sustained a pair of injuries during their 118-104 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday.

Point guard Ronnie Price sustained a concussion while power forward Markieff Morris suffered a mild sprain in his left knee, the team announced.

Price went head-first into a screen by Josh Smith, while Morris injured his knee midway through the first quarter.

Neither player returned for the second half.

The starting backcourt of Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight combined for 63 points in the first half, so the loss of Price didn't affect the outcome of Thursday's game. It helped that the Clippers' combo of Chris Paul and J.J. Redick were both also out with injury.

Losing Morris for an extended period, however, would hurt the Suns' thin depth at power forward. Morris is off to a horrible start (he's shooting just 36 percent from the field) but he's still the team's best option at power forward.

Backup Mirza Teletovic soaked up most of Morris' minutes in the first half, and to his credit, the Bosnian sharpshooter managed to goad Blake Griffin into an ejection.
