LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers and reigning league MVP Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors have been named NBA Players of the Week.

This is James' first Player of the Week win of the 2015-16 season and Curry's second.

Cleveland maintained its position atop the Eastern Conference with a 2-1 record, improving to 10-3 overall behind James' averages of 25.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. The King barely missed out on his first triple-double against the Atlanta Hawks, scoring 19 points, grabbing 11 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists in 33 minutes of action.

The Warriors continued their winning ways with a 4-0 week, tying the NBA record with a 15-0 start to the regular season following a victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday night. Curry, 27, was a huge catalyst behind the team's success, averaging 30.8 points (second in NBA) on 50.6 percent shooting from the field, along with six assists, 5.5 rebounds, and three steals per game.

Other nominees for the award included Cleveland's Kevin Love, Paul George and C.J. Miles of the Indiana Pacers, Marc Gasol of the Memphis Grizzlies, Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans, Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks, Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jahlil Okafor of the Philadelphia 76ers, and Brandon Knight of the Phoenix Suns.
