Drummond explodes for 29 and 27, Jackson drops 40 points in Pistons win
This is becoming standard for Andre Drummond. The Detroit Pistons center scored 29 points and pulled down 27 rebounds for his third 20-20 game of the season in Detroit's 120-103 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
Drummond grabbed a career-high 29 rebounds in last Tuesday's loss to the Indiana Pacers, and now has a double-double in each game this season. Needless to say, he is flirting with some historic company.
Point guard Reggie Jackson scored a career-high 40 points for the Pistons, as Detroit mounted a comeback from an 18-point third quarter deficit to end up winning by 17. Riding a 34-4 fourth-quarter run, the Pistons outscored the Blazers 41-11 in the final frame. Twenty-six of Jackson's points were scored in the fourth. In the middle of the surge, Portland forward Ed Davis personified the Blazers' frustration by getting ejected for arguing a missed foul call.
The Pistons sit at 5-1 now. Last year, they didn't reach five wins until 24 games into the season.
