Granger will almost certainty be waived by the Pistons before the regular season begins on Tuesday, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.

Analysis:

According to head coach Stan Van Gundy, Granger will be waived for procedural reasons. Granger was acquired alongside Marcus Morris and Reggie Bullock by the Pistons via trade in July. He wasn't able to play at all this preseason as he has been rehabbing after undergoing a second knee surgery last summer. The former All-Star has evolved into an NBA journey-man late in his career, having stints with four teams in the past two seasons. Granger could never bounce back to full form after missing all but five games in the 2012-13 season due to patellar tendinosis. This could be the end of Granger's NBA road, unless he can get healthy and find his way onto a team looking to add veteran depth during the season.
