Analysis:

Though he was listed as probable heading into the game, Turner ended up missing his second consecutive preseason contest with a right knee strain. Coach Brad Stevens deployed Jae Crowder as the starting small forward Thursday, but the job still appears to be Turner's for the taking once he puts the injury behind him. It seems likely that Turner was just held out Thursday for a precautionary purposes rather than because of a setback, so look for him to make his preseason debut Oct. 14 against the Nets.
