Bennett, Murray, Brooks highlight Canada's Pan Am roster

Steven Branscombe-USA TODAY Sports

The Canadian Olympic Committee and Canada Basketball finalized its 12-man roster for the men's Pan Am Games team on Saturday, and it features some notable names.

Two of the more intriguing players are Kentucky commit Jamal Murray and Oregon forward Dillon Brooks.

The team also features three current NBAers in Anthony Bennett of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Andrew Nicholson of the Orlando Magic, and Sacramento Kings center Sim Bhullar. Bennett, the No. 1 pick in 2013, has had a disappointing first two NBA seasons, while Nicholson has seen his playing time decrease due to multiple factors since a promising rookie season in 2012-13.

High-profile Canadian NBA names like Andrew Wiggins, restricted free agent Tristan Thompson, and Kelly Olynyk are sitting out the tournament in the hotbed of Canadian basketball, Toronto. Wiggins, however, is expected to suit up for his country in September's FIBA Americas Olympic qualifier.
