Stephen Curry and David Lee weren't always bosom buddies.

Lee joined the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2010. At the time, Curry was entering his second season in the pro ranks. While they quickly developed a strong bond as teammates, the two did not always get along on the hardwood.

With the news that Lee, who enters 2015-16 on the final year of his current contract, has been traded to the Boston Celtics, Chef Curry honored his outgoing comrade with a trip down memory lane.

As seen in this video, Curry seemingly gets under the skin of Lee - a member of the New York Knicks at the time - with a block in the paint. Some faint trash talk can also be heard as the slight point guard rejects the 6-foot-9 power forward. After the swat leads to two points for the Dubs on the other end, Lee and Curry share an up-close-and-personal moment with seconds left in the game.

One can only imagine what the two future running mates are discussing: who between Jason Mraz and Kings of Leon had a better hit song that year; how the Knicks were one draft spot away from being able to select Curry; or how they should team up and bring the Bay Area its first NBA title since 1975.

Either way, Lee proved himself a true professional in 2014-15, sacrificing playing time for the good of the team, and Curry's gesture via Twitter conveys his appreciation.

Now Lee will have the opportunity to put his offensive skills on display once again, this time in Beantown.
