VIDEO: Irving gives rousing speech about playing with LeBron, gives self dap

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Becoming a teammate of LeBron James seems like one of the most fortunate things that could happen to a basketball player.

The league's best player over the last decade, James' singular talents have been enough to lure superstars away from home, get others to take pay cuts, and have made any James team the premier destination for veterans chasing a ring. He makes those around him better, more successful, and, in some cases, richer.

The Cleveland Cavaliers' roster went through an enormous overhaul this summer with the return of James, with only a few holdovers sticking around to enjoy those benefits.

Kyrie Irving has been chief among them, with James bumping the 23-year-old from face of the franchise to very important sidekick. Their relationship dates back to ninth grade for Irving, as he played in James' camp multiple times. For any young player, let alone one who had already met James, the opportunity would seem an overwhelming blessing.

The good fortune that befell him is not lost on Irving, who made a rousing speech about life with James on Friday. It's an incredibly passionate, nearly two-minute talk, one that he gives himself dap for at the end, clearly surprised by his own monologue's passion and length.

It's definitely worth a watch:

Now, imagine the speech he'll give if James helps lead him to the city of Cleveland's first sports championship since 1964.
