Unlikely hero J.R. Smith took to Instagram to celebrate Thursday after his Cleveland Cavaliers eliminated the Chicago Bulls to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Smith and teammate Iman Shumpert were unceremoniously dumped by the New York Knicks in a midseason trade that saw the swingmen moved to Cleveland. Their arrival coincided with the Cavaliers' turnaround, which has since seen them become the first team to clinch a conference finals berth.

Shumpert and Smith have emerged as key pieces for the Cavaliers in the postseason, averaging a combined 21.2 points on 3.7 3-pointers made per game.
