Michael Kidd-Gilchrist: Done With Ankle Sprain

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) suffered a left ankle sprain in Friday's game against the Wizards and will not return, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Analysis:

Kidd-Gilchrist went straight to the locker room after going down, so an ankle sprain is actually a bit of relief compared to some of the alternatives. The Hornets play again Saturday, and while he can't officially be ruled out, it wouldn't be surprising if he misses that contest as well. The team should provide an update at some point, however, confirming his status.
