Pistons' Monroe doubtful for the weekend with knee injury

The Detroit Pistons' recent slide has all but ended their postseason hopes, and now the team will likely remain without Greg Monroe for at least the next few days.

Monroe, who hurt his knee during Monday's practice and missed the Pistons' last two games, is doubtful for this weekend's contests against the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics.

The 24-year-old pending free agent is averaging 16 points and a career-high 10.4 rebounds.

Detroit had climbed within a half-game of eighth place in the Eastern Conference before a 10-game losing streak and losses in 11 of their last 12 games derailed their playoff chase.

The Pistons now sit 6.5 games out of eighth with only 14 games remaining.
