Grizzlies' Conley will not play Tuesday against Pistons

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies will once again be without point guard Mike Conley Tuesday when they take on the Detroit Pistons.

Conley is dealing with an ankle injury that has forced him to sit out the Grizzlies' last three games. He sustained the injury during last Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics

The Grizzlies have been treading water in Conley's absence. They picked up two wins against the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets while relying on their defense to do the heavy lifting. The Bucks and Nuggets managed just 83 and 81 points apiece.

Conley is a crucial piece of Memphis's playoff puzzle. Playing in his eighth season with the team, he has posted averages of 16.3 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals along with his usual stellar two-way play.

In his absence, one of either Nick Calathes or Beno Udrih will start at point guard.
