Kings' Collison to miss 7th consecutive game Wednesday with hip injury
George Karl probably didn't think he was taking over a team quarterbacked by Ray McCallum, but that's where things stand for the time being.
The Sacramento Kings will be without starting point guard Darren Collison for the seventh consecutive game on Wednesday when they take host the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced.
Collison has been out since Feb. 5 with a hip flexor strain, and on Tuesday traveled to Los Angeles to visit a specialist.
When healthy, Collison has been a steady hand at the point for the Kings, averaging 16.1 points, 5.6 assists and 1.5 steals, while shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 37.3 percent from downtown.
The Kings have been a ridiculous 14.5 points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor, though that certainly owes something to the fact that he and DeMarcus Cousins tend to be on court at the same time.
The Kings have gone 2-4 during his recent absence.
