VIDEO: Kenneth Faried throws down from very far away

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Kenneth Faried won a gold medal with USA Basketball at the FIBA World Cup this past summer in Spain.

If he doesn't manage to crack the roster for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil, he may want to try out for the track-and-field team. Dude can long jump with the best of them.

To wit, Faried gathered a Ty Lawson bounce pass on Tuesday against the San Antonio Spurs and opted not to dribble his way into better scoring position. Instead, he took flight from just below the free throw line, gliding to the rim with ease and emphasis.

Re-watch the video and this time keep an eye on Patty Mills, who thinks about helping from the weak corner and then opts to just get the heck out of Faried's way. Smart guy, that Patty Mills.
