Pelicans' Holiday will not play Friday

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

Jrue Holiday will miss a second straight game when the New Orleans Pelicans take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, as the point guard continues to deal with an inflamed right ankle.

Holiday last played on Monday against the Boston Celtics, when he was forced from the game just before halftime.

Holiday, who had suited up for 37 straight games to start the season, is averaging 15.2 points, 7.1 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals for the 19-19 Pelicans.

Tyreke Evans is expected to start at the point for the Pelicans on Friday, while Jimmer Fredette and the recently signed Nate Wolters could see additional time.
