This Day In Basketball History
1984 - Dantley dominates at the line
As part of a 116-111 victory over the Houston Rockets in Las Vegas, Utah Jazz small forward Adrian Dantley puts together a monstrous, 46-point, nine-rebound performance.
Dantley matches Wilt Chamberlain's 22-year-old record - set during Chamberlain`s 100-point game - for free throws made in a game, knocking down 28 of his 29 attempts.
The record shared by the two Hall of Famers still stands to this day.
2002 - Jordan joins the 30,000 club
There isn't much left to accomplish when Michael Jordan comes out of retirement to play for the Washington Wizards as a player-owner in 2001, but there are still milestones for His Airness to reach.
In an 89-84 victory over the Chicago Bulls, Jordan reaches one of those milestones by scoring 29 points - which includes the 30,000th point of his incomparable career.
Jordan becomes the fourth member of the 30,000 club, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone and Wilt Chamberlain.
The only player to join since is Kobe Bryant.
