Report: Nuggets' Gallinari has meniscus tear, out indefinitely

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Danilo Gallinari of the Denver Nuggets can't catch a break.

The Italian forward has a meniscus tear in his right knee and will need surgery, Clint Dempsey of the The Denver Post reported Sunday. Gallinari will be out indefinitely.

If it sounds familiar, it's because Gallinari suffered an ACL tear in his left knee during the 2012-13 season. He missed all of last season as a result.

Dempsey reported that Gallinari will have the surgery in the next few days and has a tentative recovery timetable of three weeks.

Recovery time from meniscus tears depends on the severity of the injury - as this article explains - so with a reported time frame like that, it could be thought that Gallinari's tear is not severe.

Let's hope anyways; Injuries have been cruel to Gallinari's career.
