(SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Hawks will begin a tour through the Lone Star State, beginning with Saturday's game against the Houston Rockets.
The Hawks will visit the Dallas Mavericks Monday night and opened a three-game road trip with Wednesday's convincing 127-98 defeat of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cavs coach David Blatt said the loss was embarrassing.
Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver and Mike Scott scored 20 points apiece, while Paul Millsap had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Al Horford provided 12 and 13 boards for the Hawks, who are 18-7 on the season and have won two straight and 11 of their last 12 games.
Atlanta shot 50 percent from the floor and made 13-of-22 3-pointers. Korver sank six of his seven shots from downtown and Atlanta scored 30 or more points in three of the four quarters.
"You go up and down the roster, different guys contributing at different times. That's what we're trying to build, is a team," Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer said.
The Hawks outscored the Cavaliers, 101-64, over the final three quarters, are 6-5 on the road and averaging 103.0 ppg. LeBron James and Dion Waiters scored 21 points apiece for the Cavs.
Teague is listed is doubtful for Saturday's contest with a strained left hamstring.
Houston began a three-game homestand with Thursday's 99-90 loss to Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans. Davis had 30 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks to pace the Pelicans.
James Harden scored 21 points and Dwight Howard ended with 17 and 13 rebounds for the Rockets, who had won three in a row and seven of eight games.
"We didn't have any legs. We just didn't have it tonight," said Harden, who entered the game averaging 35.8 ppg in his previous four.
The Rockets will get a boost from a recent trade. Houston acquired Corey Brewer from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Alexey Shved from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Houston dealt Troy Daniels and some cash to acquire the two wings. The Rockets waived Francisco Garcia to make room for their newest additions.
The Rockets are 9-4 at home and will close the stay Monday versus Portland.
Houston and Atlanta will meet twice this season and are slated to tangle March 3 at Philips Arena. The Rockets and Hawks split a pair of matchups in 2013-14.
Atlanta has lost four straight trips to Space City. The last time Atlanta defeated the Rockets in Houston was on Jan. 25, 2010, a 102-95 triumph.
