With a made jumper less than three minutes into Tuesday's game against the Sacramento Kings - his second of the night - Kevin Durant became the second-youngest player in NBA history to amass 15,000 career points.

You could say he joined some decent company.

Since returning from preseason surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his right foot, the reigning MVP has averaged 20.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.0 assists and one block in 28.6 minutes through seven games.

Durant, who has averaged over 27 points on 48 percent shooting in his career and has won four of the last five scoring titles, posted a season for the ages last year. He averaged 32 points, 7.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.3 steals on a 50/39/87 shooting line, finishing with a Player Efficiency Rating of 29.8, the 20th-best mark in NBA history.

Since he entered the league in 2007, Durant's scoring average of 27.3 trails only LeBron James (27.9).
