Knicks' Shumpert out at least 3 weeks with dislocated shoulder

Derick E. Hingle / USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks will be without Iman Shumpert for a while, as the team announced Saturday that the guard will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks after dislocating his left shoulder.

Shumpert injured the shoulder in the second quarter of Friday's win over the Boston Celtics.

If there's good news to be found, it's that the injury won't require surgery.

Shumpert is averaging 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals for the 5-20 Knicks through 24 games.

New York snapped a 10-game losing streak Friday, but now find themselves without Shumpert in addition to having J.R. Smith (foot) and Carmelo Anthony (knee) hobbled.
