Smith has been diagnosed with a partial tear of his left plantar fascia and is considered day-to-day, the Bergen Record reports.

Analysis:

Smith missed his second straight game Friday with what was labeled a bone bruise, but an MRI on Saturday revealed the partial tear to his plantar fascia. The Knicks aren't willing to rule him out for Sunday's game against Toronto just yet, though with Smith hobbled and Iman Shumpert (shoulder) out as well, it seems likely Tim Hardaway will see most of the time at the No. 2 position.
