Westbrook (hand) took part in some non-contact portions of practice Saturday, The Oklahoman reports. "They looked good," said Thunder coach Scott Brooks, referring to both Westbrook and Kevin Durant. "They've been with the group the whole time, but (Saturday) was the first day they've actually participated in some of the drills. It wasn't the entire practice."

Analysis:

Westbrook was originally set to be evaluated next weekend, though it appears he may be on pace to eclipse that timetable, as the report suggests he could return as early as Friday's game against the Knicks. Coach Scott Brooks declined to say whether he'll ease the point guard back into the rotation, but that was the case last season when Westbrook returned from a knee injury. 'We haven't even got to that point yet," Brooks said. "They're still in the rehab process of getting back to being able to play. The minute restriction, we're not focused on that area yet. We're just focused on getting them back and getting them ready to play."
