Rose returns to help Bulls hold off Pistons

David Banks / USA TODAY Sports

Derrick Rose made yet another return to the Bulls' lineup on Monday, and Chicago picked up another win.

After missing the previous two games - and four of the previous five - with sprained ankles, Rose returned Monday with 24 points, seven assists, two rebounds and a steal to help the Bulls hold off the Detroit Pistons, 102-91.

Rose, Joakim Noah, Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson had all missed time already this season due to various ailments, but Monday saw the Bulls at full strength for the first time.

Noah and Pau Gasol led the way for Chicago, with the team's starting big men combining for 30 points, 29 rebounds and 10 assists.

Gasol also added four blocks and this emphatic slam off of a beautiful no-look pass from Rose.

Rose didn't leave Noah out, though, hooking the Defensive Player of the Year up with this remarkable pass.

The Bulls improved to 6-2 with the victory and will now travel to Toronto for a Thursday night showdown with the Eastern Conference-leading Raptors, while the Pistons fell to 2-5.

Rose's durability remains a concern, but in limited action early in the season, he already looks more explosive and comfortable than he did in his brief return last season.
