Knicks' Prigioni hopes to return Monday

New York Knicks point guard Pablo Prigioni is looking to return Monday when the Knicks travel to Atlanta to battle the Hawks, according to Scott Cacciola of the New York Times.

Prigioni was forced from Wednesday's tilt against the Detroit Pistons after stepping on guard D.J. Augustin's foot, twisting his ankle in the process. X-rays were negative.

The Knicks are hurting for depth at point guard. With starter Jose Calderon out for another week, Shane Larkin is the only healthy point guard at the moment. In the interim, the Knicks are turning to shooting guard Iman Shumpert to log minutes at the one.

Prigioni averaged 3.8 points and 3.5 assists in 19.4 minutes per game for the Knicks last season. He does a good job of protecting the ball and he can reliably spot up from beyond.
