LeBron calls report of verbal exchange with Irving 'very false'

David Richard / USA TODAY Sports

LeBron James is squashing reports that allege he and teammate Kyrie Irving had words following the Cleveland Cavaliers' 19-point blowout loss Tuesday.

A story by Brian Windhorst of ESPN said James and Irving had a healthy discussion regarding the team's offense. Another report by Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer (see stack below) stated James was concerned with the way Irving has been running the offense and challenged him to become a better playmaker.

Irving is averaging 3.8 assists per game and went 45 minutes without one in a loss to the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.

If any exchange was had, the duo are doing their best to move past it and put the story to rest.

"I've never been on a closer team in my career," Irving said

The Cavaliers will take a 1-3 record into Friday's road contest against the Denver Nuggets.
