Dwyane Wade briefly left Wednesday's game with a calf contusion

The post-LeBron era in Miami is off to an inauspicious beginning.

With 2:48 to play in the third quarter of the team's season opener on Wednesday, Dwyane Wade hit the floor to grab a loose ball. He did not come back up quickly, instead grabbing at his left leg.

He immediately called for a substitution and has headed to the locker room to be evaluated further. The team announced that he has a left calf contusion and is probable to return in the fourth quarter.

UPDATE: With 5:59 left to play, Wade checked back into the game.

Prior to leaving with the injury, Wade had looked shaky, scoring just nine points on 4-of-11 shooting. The Heat are paper-thin, and if Wade ends up missing any time with a lingering injury, their wing depth would really be tested.
