NBA Game Summary - New York vs. Philadelphia

Syracuse, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Carmelo Anthony returned to his old college home to put up 17 points and seven rebounds and help the New York Knicks to an 84-77 win over the Philadelphia 76ers in a preseason game from the Carrier Dome.

Anthony, who led Syracuse to the 2003 national championship as a freshman before moving on to the NBA, added three assists in 27 minutes of playing time. Jason Smith chipped in 14 points and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 13 on 4-of-5 shooting off the bench in the victory.

The Knicks led nearly start-to-finish, opening up a 23-11 advantage after one quarter and building an advantage of as much as 22 points in the third quarter.

Nerlens Noel had an impressive game in defeat for the Sixers, compiling 12 points, 11 rebounds and four steals. Tony Wroten also scored 12 points for Philadelphia, with Luc Mbah a Moute finishing with 11.
