Evans spent the summer retooling his jump shot to positive results, the Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Prior to his hamstring injury, Evans was wowing coaches with his improved jumper, routinely hitting from 3-point range during drills. A 26.8 percent 3-point shooter for his career, Evans shot a mere 22.1 percent from distance last year. An improvement in that department will make an already dangerous scorer an even bigger threat, regardless of whether Evans ears the starting small forward job or comes off the bench.
