Dwight Howard on playing in Houston: 'I want to be here a long time'

Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard has learned from his mistakes. After forcing his way out of Orlando, Howard now understands the value of finding a stable home.

That home is Houston. "I want to be here a long time," Howard told Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski

Howard's love for the city of Houston and the Rockets franchise is evident in more than his words. According to Wojnarowski, Howard has also spent lavishly on gifts for his teammates.

He spent well over $100,000 on gifts for his teammates and support staff a season ago. He bought James Harden and Chandler Parsons luxury watches in the $35,000-$50,000 range, Jeremy Lin a $10,000 gift certificate for men's clothing, all the way down to iPads for support staff.

The 28-year-old Howard chose to come to Houston via free agency last summer, and has three more seasons remaining on his deal.
