PHOTO: Nike throws Kevin Durant an early birthday party complete with gifts, cake and pinata

Kevin Durant won't turn 26 until Sept. 29, but with training camps opening next week, Nike went ahead and threw him an early birthday celebration this week.

Of course, Nike is probably also celebrating that Durant is remaining with the brand, and they didn't hold anything back at the Beaverton, OR event. Not only was Durant gifted a pair of custom, Washington Redskins-colored KD7s, they also busted out an enormous basketball pinata, and a fondant KD7 "35K Degrees" cake.

While Durant's not in the picture with the cake, we're guessing he looked happier than he did about last year's shoe-inspired birthday cake (see below).
