Shaun Livingston will miss 'most, if not all' of Warriors' training camp

Shaun Livingston's recovery from offseason toe surgery is going to leave him short on time to get acclimated with his new Golden State Warriors teammates.

Livingston had arthroscopic surgery on the big toe on his right foot in mid-August, a procedure that was expected to sideline him six-to-eight weeks. If he could have returned on the shorter end of the time frame, he may have been able to make the start of camp next week. Instead, the target has apparently moved to simply being ready for the start of the season.

The situation is less than ideal, especially with a new head coach at the helm. But Livingston is a veteran of just about every scheme and style after stops in nine different NBA cities, and he should be able to get up to speed quickly once he's back on the floor.

When the Warriors signed him to a three-year contract this summer, they surely did so with an eye more toward his potential playoff performance than his preseason performance. This is a minor setback.
