Retired 12-year NBA veteran Rex Chapman was arrested on Friday and stands accused of shoplifting more than $14,000 worth of Apple products from a retail store in Arizona, according to Scottsdale police.

Chapman, 46, is believed to have stolen from the Apple Store at Scottsdale Quarter on seven different occasions in the past few months. Store employees told police that Chapman pretends to use the self-checkout, ultimately leaving with merchandise that hasn't been paid for.

According to the report, Chapman then hocks the goods at a local pawn shop for cash.

Formerly of the Charlotte Hornets, Washington Bullets, Miami Heat, and - most memorably - the Phoenix Suns, Chapman is facing nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property.

Since retiring from the NBA in 2000, Chapman has spent time as a scout, an executive and a color commentator. Most recently, he worked the 2013 NCAA Tournament as an analyst for CBS and spent the 2013-14 season as the color analyst for Grand Canyon.
