Raptors' draft selection DeAndre Daniels to play in Australia next season

Having drafted DeAndre Daniels with the intention of stashing him overseas, the Toronto Raptors must be happy to hear Daniels has found a home in Australia for next season.

In a post from The Herald Sun, Daniels stated that he's "going to Australia for four months, a long vacation and I'm going back and will be with the Raptors."

No contract is yet official, but it's expected that the 37th selection of this year's draft will play in Perth next season.

The Raptors' roster already holds 14 guaranteed contracts, with a possible 15th in newly signed Will Cherry. The plan all along was to stash Daniels overseas, thus freeing up a roster spot with the added benefit of shaving a tick off the team's balance sheet.

Daniels sounded optimistic, saying that he's "just going to go out there and not look at it as a negative, but [as] a positive."
