The Toronto Raptors reportedly added depth at the point with the signing of point guard Will Cherry.

Cherry, as noted by Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, has played in the D-League as recently as last season, where he averaged 11.6 points and 4.5 assists in 30.3 minutes per game. Cherry also played in Las Vegas Summer League this summer as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he turned heads for his steady performance.

The 23-year-old guard is somewhat undersized, weighing in at just 181 pounds while standing at 6-foot-1. He will mostly serve as added depth in a crowded Raptors backcourt that includes Kyle Lowry, Greivis Vasquez and Lou Williams (irony noted) as guards who can run the point.

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey hinted at the Raptors' need for a third point guard two weeks ago during Summer League. The deal likely brings the Raptors' roster to 15, assuming Lucas Nogueira works out a buyout with his European club.
