The Milwaukee Bucks will be adding a talented young distributor via the waiver wire, claiming Kendall Marshall from the Los Angeles Lakers, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

And just like that, bingo, K-Butter's got action:

It's a great addition for the Bucks, who will assume Marshall's $915,243 non-guaranteed contract for this season. While the Lakers waiving Marshall may now seem foolish, they needed the cap space that the move created to make some other moves, and losing Marshall was a risk they were willing to take.

Still just 22 years old, Marshall thrived with the Lakers in Mike D'Antoni's up-tempo offense last season, averaging eight points and 8.8 assists in 54 games. While he's unlikely to ever be an average defender at the point, Marshall is a very creative passer and flashed a much-improved 3-point shot (39.9 percent) this season. He's a valuable piece available for relative pennies, and is exactly the type of gamble a team like the Bucks should be taking.

Marshall will compete with Nate Wolters and perhaps even Giannis Antetokounmpo (seriously) for backup minutes behind Brandon Knight and Jerryd Bayless.
