Manu Ginobili: Diagnosed With Stress Fracture In Leg

Ginobili was diagnosed with a stress fracture in his right leg which will likely keep him out of the FIBA World Cup, Yahoo! Sports reports.

Analysis:

The early stages of the fracture were discovered during his exit interview with the Spurs, and it likely developed late in the playoffs, as Ginobili did not appear hampered during the Spurs' championship run. The veteran will seek another medical opinion, but it's very likely he'll miss out on playing for Argentina in the FIBA World Cup, which begins August 30. A two month recovery period is anticipated, placing Ginobili back before the commencement of training camp.
