Report: Clippers would pursue LeBron James, but Griffin is 'untouchable'

Well, at least it saved us from the breaking of the internet.

According to Ramona Shelbourne of ESPN, the Los Angeles Clippers are not willing to part with forward Blake Griffin in a sign-and-trade for LeBron James. In fact, Griffin is described as "untouchable".

An earlier report from the Los Angeles Times cited that the Clippers could consider a swap of the two All-Star forwards.

The latest report from ESPN makes a lot of sense, given how much the Clippers have invested in Griffin. Not only is he the face of the franchise, the 24-year-old is a superstar in the making, and finished third in MVP voting last season. Though James is undoubtedly one of the two best players in the NBA, the Clippers appear resolved to pay a lower price than Griffin in their pursuit of him.
