Bill Russell says Tim Duncan is 'Right up there at the top' of all-time great big-men

There is no champion more decorated in the history of the NBA than Bill Russell, who won 11 NBA championships and five MVP awards during his 13-year career. The NBA Finals MVP trophy was named after him, for crying out loud.

So when Russell weighs in on the historical significance of something, his opinion carries weight.

On Sunday night, after Tim Duncan earned his fifth NBA championship, Russell told USA Today Sports that Duncan is "Right up there at the top" among the game's greatest big men. (David Robinson, Duncan's teammate from 1998-2003, agreed.)

With five titles, three NBA Finals MVPs, two regular season MVPs, 14 All-Star appearances, 10 All-NBA First Team honors, eight All-Defensive First team nods, the most playoff minutes ever logged, the eighth most blocks and 12th most rebounds ever recorded and the 24th-most points ever scored, are you going to argue?
