Jefferson (foot) is in no rush to start his offseason workouts, and coach Steve Clifford is giving him his full support, the Charlotte Observer reports. "He's at the stage of (riding a) stationary bike. For him it's much more the conditioning part than it is on the floor. You don't want (older players) pounding for three months in the summer," said Clifford.

Analysis:

Jefferson has been around the block a few times, so his hesitancy to begin working out for next season doesn't seem too outlandish, especially since he's coming off an injury. His younger teammates like Kemba Walker and Cody Zeller are at the facilities in Charlotte working on their game, but Jefferson's main focus is on recovering from his plantar fascia. He remains the Hornets' number one option and will likely continue to be in 2014-2015.
