Vitor Faverani (knee) won't be allowed by the Celtics' team doctors to participate in World Cup, Summer League

Vitor Faverani (knee) won't be allowed by the Celtics' team doctors to participate in the World Cup or the Summer League, AHE! reports.

Analysis:

Faverani had surgery in March to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee which held him out for the rest of the season. Obviously it would be beneficial for the rookie to get some time on the court under competitive circumstances, but his recovery timeline is apparently not on par with these events. Because of this, his 2014-2015 season will begin with major question marks surrounding both his availability and viability going into his second year in the NBA.
